  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm tired of Christians.

I'm embarrassed more and more everyday to even call myself a "Christian" because of what it implies.

It implies different denominations. It implies arguments. It implies doctrine (false or true). It implies false doctrine and mind control. It implies religion. It implies falsehood and hypocrisy. It implies begging of money. It implies, at times, no faith.

The only thing that it means to me is "a follower of Christ"

I'm tired, even on here already, of people saying things that they believe themselves and trying to push it on fellow believers.

For example:
KJV is truth. I agree, but other versions of the Bible are true as well.
All the bull denominations put on fellow believers, claiming things they "think" to be truth on to us. I do not care what denomination (I don't think there will be any in heaven) will "rule" or be "found" out in heaven. All I care about is if you are a Christian.

The body is fighting itself... and I'm tired of it.

We are all members of one Body, so lets work together!

Keep what you believe (doctrine wise, faith wise, etc) besides when witnessing, to yourself. I do not know, you do not know, we do not know what doctrine is TRUE for God, but we can know what is TRUE for ourselves. It is a PERSONAL walk so choose what you may believe according to yourself and God and leave it at that.

Lets unite and simply fellowship. Any disagreements let them go.

I just want to unite with the entire body so we can begin doing what Christ told us to do. I want to stop arguing. I want to truly live in freedom and not be bonded by the stupid things we do not agree with.

The foot does not understand the hand, and that is that. It does not argue or try to be the hand, it understands its role and continues forward without arguing with the hand and trusts that the hand does its job as well.

Lets do the same, thank you.

Am I the only one that sees and wishes this?

Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

Woman = Church
one man = Christ
Bread = doctrine
clothing = Robes of righteousness

It is no surprise you see what you see in the end time churches however if you look to other's for the standard then you will be dissapointed, Look to Christ and his standard then step up to the plate and live it!

God hates the mindset of people who take his name in vain, who name themselves as christian but don't live it, there is a strong warning in revelation against it.

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches

We all get tired and worn out (of the things of this world).

However, we must endure til the end, holding tightly to what we know to be true.

As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me- the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his glorious return. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Indeed...for what you look for has already come.

Let Jesus alone enter Your World, and let Him bring to naught all powers which have come upon you. Let Him enter the temple which is within you so that he may cast out all the merchants. Let Him dwell in the temple which is within you, and may you become for Him a priest and a Levite, entering in purity.

The soul which is a member of God's household is one which is kept pure, and the soul which has put on Jesus is one which is pure. It is impossible for it to sin.

Blessed are you, O soul, if you find this one in your temple.

For every man who is separated from Him, falls into the claws of wild beasts.

Know who Jesus is and aquire Him as a friend, for this is the friend who is faithful.

Poet, you are not alone. But, I think, the divisions that wrack the church have and will continue to exist. The best we can do for ourselves is to do the work that is set before us constantly and with a cheerful heart, and for others, to love them unconditionally and not return to them anger or hostility.

...and how do you intend that to happen if we are all free to believe as we please...what christ told us to do is what we disagree on as it is...
hey im all for living your own life and having a self belief regardless of everyone else believes, thats the way i beleive, you wont hear me talk about my theology much if at all.
but some people believe that they are right in pressing their beliefs on people... some people believe that is what God would have us do. How will we unit under the "freedom" of believe and do what "Christ told us to do", since that also is dependent on perception.
I don't believe getting fustrated and tired is the answer, thats just taking it further.
You just gotta give up the fight man, smile and embrace people in kindness even when they are doing the things you mentioned. Saying your tired of christians is no diffrent or better than pushing your beliefs on someone, its just as condescending and inconsiderate. Those people often think they are doing what is right and being loyal to their beliefs the same as you. If you dont know or understand "Gods" truth...how can you say something is jacked up just becuase it causes problems with you? thats all the same.

you know man?

I would agree.

I try my best just to live for Christ as He would want me to, that alone is a battle in its own with my personal affairs you know?? It just sucks when I get tripped up by a fellow believer who decides that I'm doing something wrong in their eyes, but not my own.

I mean it goes as far as what Bible we read. Some people are so gung-ho about one Bible (which is cool and all) but I may not see it the same way. I personally read all the versions of the Bible, but have a favorite one that I turn to that God uses for me in my own life.

It just comes to my personal spiritual walk and it sucks when someone tries to trip me up about myself. Who are they to judge me? That's what I'm saying...

There are so many more issues, you know?

But I am trying. I'm not going to give up because of someone else.

I'm just bringing out the concern because this crap needs to stop...

The "freedom" in which we live "as we please" is within, of course, certain boundaries. There are boundaries the Bible lays out clearly, such as: the ten commandments and the teachings of Christ, but there are "gray areas" such as which Bible is correct? Is playing cards bad? Is drinking (not to get drunk) bad? Is playing intruments in worship wrong?

These complications can all come down to a personal level with Christ. I just am not happy when someone tries to impose their ideas on me or waves their personal beliefs IN Christ like a red flag and that they are some how better than everyone else because they believe that way.

It is a personal walk. There is fellowship within this walk, but we are here to help and nurture one another. Not to battle and see who's better.

That's such a good post. The bible vs traditions is always the topic that causes strife it seems.

certainly. i think how you do deal with it depends on the situation and what you think there major motivation is.
yeah man, there will always be people who accuse or criticise, thats not just a spiritual thing, were constantly being assessed by our peers in all areas. are they doing it out any good motivation... not often haha.

The whole nit picking is true. It's annoying... but I usually just ignore it, I get annoyed inside but just let who ever may have anything to say to yap and it's not like I can say anything to them that they will take to heart. So I figure to just leave that to the matters of the heart, which God can deal with. :)
