I don't think Jesus would look so much at the denominations but rather the hearts of people. I saw this christian movie recently called "Joshua", a what-if movie taking the question "What if Jesus came back on earth now? What would he be like? What would he do?"

In the movie Jesus was very simple, lived in a rented woodwork shop. He saw a church building destroyed by lightning and set about rebuilding it. He got the community involved and he met the catholics and the charismatics and a Gen-X church too.

Everyone just loved him - he was so nice, cared genuinely about them and helped them out. Soon people from all the churches were helping to rebuild the broken baptist church and everyone was enjoying it!

As it turned out he did miracles too and turned people who were hurt back to God. And there was one catholic priest who opposed this despite the obvious good he was doing.

In the end he returned the priest's hate by helping him fulfil a dream of being at the Vatican and healing him of his fears. And he even talked to the Pope and encouraged him to tell the world that God loves them and longs for them to come to Him!

There was a lot of truth in that. I think Jesus would have rebuked people too, but it was a great encouragement to watch this movie.

blessings,

When Jesus looks down from His throne, He doesn't see different denominations, He see's the body of believers.  It's only man that has created the denominations.

The next question would be; are all of the separate denominations working as a whole unit, the body of Christ?

It's a heart issue, as far as I'm concerned.

No matter what appendage or organ each Church is, we are all part of the same body. We all have different strengths, weaknesses, and gifts. I think that the label on the building really means nothing. After all, Jesus never even gave us the title of "Christians". Do you think that after all of the talk and stressing of how great the Father is, that Jesus would want everyone to be named after his title of "Christ"? It's just something to think about. Names are irrelevant, but what is in our hearts and minds is under constant scrutiny. THAT is what I would prefer to concentrate on. :)

I think that as long as the gospel was the number one priority, he wouldn't stress about there being a lot of denominations. There are different parts of the body, you know. You wouldn't put your shoes on your ears or your hat on your knee or your underpants on your head. Since different denominations fit different people and different parts of hte Body, he would be okay with it as long as all the churches accurately reflect Him.
