  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jesus said
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

What implications does this have on denominations of today?

Do you think further unity is necessary?

Cleary not all denominations are united, neither are they of the same mind, or Spirit.

But the days are soon coming when the saints of the Most High God shall see eye to eye.

Isaiah 52:8
Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

Romans 12:16
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Philippians 2:2
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Philippians 4:2
I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:10-13(AMP)But I urge and entreat you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in perfect harmony and full agreement in what you say, and that there be no dissensions or factions or divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your common understanding and in your opinions and judgments.11 For it has been made clear to me, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions and wrangling and factions among you.12What I mean is this, that each one of you [either] says, I belong to Paul, or I belong to Apollos, or I belong to Cephas (Peter), or I belong to Christ.13 Is Christ (the Messiah) divided into parts? Was Paul crucified on behalf of you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

I think here is the best verse that describes denominations. Paul asked," Has Christ been divided into factions?" Indeed these denominations are factions and unity has not been in effect among these denominations. But Jesus prayed we be one as He and his father are one and God will definitively answer his own prayer. It may not be at this time but in the End-Times we have but no choice to come together under the name of Jesus Christ. Thanks for posting about unity it encourages me to know people are learning of unity and desire we all be one. God bless.

the church of God is not divided. God has His own in the whole world. and all are known as the church of God. we should see that not only where we attend the church service that that is the only church.

Amen, God's Church is the Body of Christ, which is made up of living stones, an Holy Temple not cut out by the tools of man.

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

how's your take on Rom 8:12

Romans 6:3
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Our old fleshy minded man was put to death on the cross along with the flesh of Jesus, but we by Him are raised up a new spiritual man in Christ by way of God's Spirit.

Therefore we being dead to the ways of the flesh, are no longer to serve the sinful desires of the old fleshy minded man; but rather we are to serve God in newness of Spirit by way of Christ who now dwells in us.
