The justification - sanctification issues as taught are nothing but religious controlling issues keeping people dependent on the system.justification... sanctification... pretty much just semantics in my book. James 2:24 says "You see therefore that we are justified by works." You are, simply, mistaken, if you answer is (as it seems above) that our walk is based on faith alone and does not include obedience. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works" Eph 2:10
Like it or not living by faith does not require 1 to live their lives by the law. All the applicable Scripture has already been either cited or quoted and tossed out.Im going to list different definitions of what I found of what it means to walk by faith.
Walking by faith means living life in light of eternal consequences. To walk by faith is to fear God more than man; to obey the Bible even when it conflicts with man’s commands; to choose righteousness over sin, no matter what the cost; to trust God in every circumstance; and to believe God rewards those who seek Him, regardless of who says otherwise (Hebrews 11:6).
To walk by faith means that you believe God rewards those who seek Him, no matter what anyone else tells you (Hebrews 11:6). Rather than loving the things of this world (1 John 2:15–16), Christians should spend their lives glorifying God in everything they do (1 Corinthians 10:31).
2 Corinthians 5:7 gives a reminder and exhortation that believers are to "walk by faith, not by sight." "Walk" speaks of how we live our lives, conduct ourselves, behave, and use the time and opportunities God has ordained for us. Walking "by sight" speaks of choosing to live based upon how things naturally appear, feel, and seem at first glance.
Walking by faith and not by sight requires you to go to a place you do not know, one that God will reveal as you walk in obedience. Just look to Abraham as an example (Genesis 12:1).
Walking by faith requires a strong determination to follow God’s plan regardless what life throws your way. Look to Daniel to discover how to have the resolve not to sin (Daniel 1:8).
-Like it or not walking by faith requires you to obey Gods commands, as that is the only way you can obey God
re you trying to say Christians do not practice sin obey the law? If so then my non Christian neighbor possesses salvation. If one is a gentile believer, then obedience to the universal laws. Some are the obvious; I'm sure you remember Romans 13:9 "Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Many sets of commandments are laid out in the epistles for believers, such as Romans 12:9-21, Romans 13:1-14, 1 Corinthians 5:9-11, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 is pretty well known, 1 Corinthians 6:18,1 Corinthians 7:2-5, 1 Corinthians 7:36-38....That's less than half of them.
Besides keeping the commandments, you have your basic almsgiving. James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Wow. Such cynicism. It doesn't occur to you that maybe churches are simply teaching the Bible to the best of their understanding? The justification - sanctification issues as taught are nothing but religious controlling issues keeping people dependent on the system.
I'm not saying Christians don't sin. When we sin, we must once more come to repentance and return to the Way of God, being obedient and doing good works.re you trying to say Christians do not practice sin obey the law? If so then my non Christian neighbor possesses salvation.
Of course alms giving is a requirement. Didn't I just say that?Required alms giving is not alms giving it is a requirement (work).
Wasn't Abraham a "gentile"?With all the back and forth about the Sabbath, Feast Days, and a few more topics that usually divide many on here, alot of people always resort to THE GENTILES AREN'T COMMANDED OR HAVE TO DO X,Y,Z.
There is no covenant anywhere in the entire bible made with the gentiles, The New Covenant was for Israel and the gentiles are grafted in. There is no such thing as rules for Jews that believe in Jesus and rules for gentiles that believe in Jesus. Its the same commands we keep, outside the one ones that cant be kept because they dont apply to you (i.e your not a king, priest, woman, etc).....................................
.
Abraham was called a Hebrew, because Hebrews have always been Gods people. Even Paul refereed to himself as a Hebrew.Wasn't Abraham a "gentile"?
Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you

GALATIANS 3:
6 . . . Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."
7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.
8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed."
9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
As the passage above (as well as chapters 4 and 9 of Romans) shows, Gentile believers become "sons of Abraham" through faith in the Messiah. This faith allows Gentiles to no longer be "strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God" (Eph. 2:19).
For centuries the Jews had received the benefits of being God's chosen people by virtue of being Abraham's physical descendants. But after the sacrifice of Yeshua, this place of honor and blessing would be predominantly given to the people represented by Lazarus. This is the meaning of being "carried to the bosom of Abraham" in this parable.
The deaths of both the rich man (who represented the Jews) and Lazarus (who represented the other nations) are symbolic in this parable. Here, their demise depicts an elemental change in the status and position of the two groups.
Very interesting. I should have stayed awake in Hebrew class..sighAbraham was called a Hebrew, because Hebrews have always been Gods people. Even Paul refereed to himself as a Hebrew.
Genesis 14:13
13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.............
.
According to Avraham ben-Yosef, Hebrew flourished as a spoken language in the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah during about 1200 to 586 BCE.[16] Scholars debate the degree to which Hebrew was a spoken vernacular in ancient times following the Babylonian exile, when the predominant international language in the region was Old Aramaic.http://www.kingdombiblestudies.org/Revelation/rev50.htm
The Canaanites are the next kingdom we encounter in the land. Canaanite means a peddler, trickster, or trafficker.
This bespeaks of the spirit of charlatanism, showmanship, gimmickry, pretense, and religious racketeers! It is the misuse of the anointing and revelation one has received. Ah, what a temptation that is!
The Canaanites are the harlot spirits of the fleshly religious methods of Mystery Babylon. These Canaanite preachers are always peddling something, hawking their wares — some little gimmick to get you to follow them and send them your money...
Not all Hebrews are Israeli. OTH all Israeli are Hebrews.Abraham was called a Hebrew, because Hebrews have always been Gods people. Even Paul refereed to himself as a Hebrew.
Genesis 14:13
13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.
Gentiles were considered people outside the covenant back then or unbelievers, that is why when they got saved they were grafted in as part of Israel. So you cant be a unbelieving believer.
With all the back and forth about the Sabbath, Feast Days, and a few more topics that usually divide many on here, alot of people always resort to THE GENTILES AREN'T COMMANDED OR HAVE TO DO X,Y,Z.

Then John's Gospel is a lie.Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
If you are in the supposed new covenant you must be Israel or Judah, by birth or by becoming a proselyte, no unconverted gentiles allowed.
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
If you are in the supposed new covenant you must be Israel or Judah, by birth or by becoming a proselyte, no unconverted gentiles allowed.

bugkiller
He was the first "Hebrew" as recorded in Gen 14.13; so no.Wasn't Abraham a "gentile"?
Operative word: unconverted. If you are in the supposed new covenant you must be Israel or Judah, by birth or by becoming a proselyte, no unconverted gentiles allowed.
How is that true? The justification - sanctification issues as taught are nothing but religious controlling issues keeping people dependent on the system.
That would also mean there is no such thing as some of the stuff that floats around here in regards to the NC..."that command is for Israel" or "Christians arent commanded XYZ", since Christians are grafted into Israel when they are saved, since we are all one is Christ. How come the Bible then says that under the New Covenant of Jesus Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile? That we are all one people which are Christ's Own?
