Hi! My name is Jaycee and I'm currently on a fast, but its a lil didn't from your typical 21 Daniel fast. I am a nerd and I struggle very much with video games, anime, and comics. I know. I know. It's weird, but its true. It's so bad to where I started to put those things before God. So the Lord told me to fast from not only those things, but also fried food, sweets, and social media for 2 weeks. Im currently on day 4. My current problem is that I find myself being extremely bored. Now, I know that when you're on a fast you're supposed seek God by reading his word and praying, but all day??? I have bible plans set up. So i do those, then i just dont know what else to do. Can you help me figure out how to occupy my time? Also, lemme know any scriptures, you advise me to read during this very difficult time...

I am similar to yourself, I like my computer games, and I sometimes fast from it to spend more time with God.

As for your question, some times it can get boring, but if we persists God will reveal himself in subtle ways, and it is very refreshing. I am not going to tell you what to do. But you could try writing down some thoughts about God on paper and putting then in letter boxes as a form of evangelism. Or you could go out and talk casually to people about Jesus in your local shopping centre, or meeting places. If you like art, prepare some artworks that glorify God, that you can put up on social media when you get back on. Ask God for some desire for mission to help others, he will show you something you can do. If he does not just pick something to do, and give it a try.

In the Bible...Daniel fasted and did his duties in the King's palace.

So you also can be about your own duties... are you in school? complete
assignments, study/prepare for tests, help someone else who needs help
with their homework etc.

Do you work? do your job as if working for the Lord.

At home? do chores. Cook meals.
Go help your "neighbors"....mow some lawns? run errands for them? wash their car?

Call your minister and ask if there's any thing at church that you could help out with.
Visit shut-ins...talk, read to them, pray with them etc.

For me, when Gods spirit is leading me to read the Bible, I LOVE doing it... typically there is EXTREME joy when I do something that Gods spirit is leading me to do. Fasting is the one thing that is challenging because it is starving our flesh of fleshly pleasures.

Read Isaiah 58 over and over every day you are fasting, this is the chapter that says what God wants us to accomplish on our fasts... to ''loosen the bands of wickedness'' on our lives and to obtain true righteousness- ''to satisfy the afflicted soul.'' Such a beautiful chapter on righteousness, I love it. Video games, anime, and comics are extremely demonic often so good job on putting those down, they can destroy your mind. God told me to give up lifting weights 2 years ago and I haven't done it since. I love journaling, watching sermons on YouTube, listeining to worship music, and lots of meditating/praying while fasting. The scriptures I recommend are-

-Isaiah 58
-John 14-16
-Matthew 5-7
-Deuteronomy 27-29
