Unique Birthdays

Next week I'll be 36 and every year I like to make something special to remember my birthday by. I've been doing this since I was 20years old. Anyone have any special birthdays to share? Or any special way you celbrated your BIG 30th, as some call it.

I guess for me a birthday I'll never forget is my 18th birthday. I was told that I'd have to have back surgery. Then six years almost to the day I was told I'd have to have my second back surgery. My 21st was quite an adventure...that was back when I was in my old ways... LOL... I was taken to a "gentleman's club" (no need to use the other term) and that set me off on a downward spiral of about 6 years.

My birthday always gets mixed into valentines day... if you can afford to, plan a special party or ask a friend to help you plan one.... parties are fun

I went and watched the third underworld for my birthday... that was fun, i don't get to go to the movies much.

ranyhyn, I think my 27th was something like your 18th, I was sick in bed the whole time. A friend had a post birthday party though later. I'm sorry to hear about the downward spiral, I hope that your strength has been reset in the Lord over the years.

Hey thanks Zandy, that's sweet. Nawww, tats don't interest me, I've been asked that question a mill times. We'll see what happens this birthday, last year I went to a foreign film about a consentration camp (it left me with horrible memories, but very educational). I may do the same this year because I like discussion and its flexible with my job being on call.

I refused to have a big 30th so I had a 31st. It was a wig party and everyone got 'wiggy wid it'

As my friends get more and more immersed in their married life and family, it gets harder to do anything heaps fun. Last year for my 35th I kinda gave up, but close girlfriends organised for us to have a picnic. That was nice, not to organise anything for once.

I wasnt in the habit of celebrating birthdays at all until I turned about 29 because I was just so happy to be alive. I remember last year (31) most simply because of how happy I was! I never remember being that happy in my entire life. My sister and I had a very simple meal at a dinky little restaurant, and there was a woman at the bar who was 1) drunk 2) had just gone through a divorce - she had A LOT to say to everyone. 32 is hours away, all I really want is an ice cream cake hehe. I'm glad to be alive.
