Greetings everyone!

I am a newbie here! You can call me Reese. I am 18 years old. And as what you have read my username is unheardnoise with that, I want to say that I am deaf. It started when I was 10years old and I really do not hear any sound anymore. And I don't remember anything after that

I am thankful that I still have other senses -- I can still see, touch, smell and feel. God is really amazing for that. But I miss the way I sing and hear music. But I do not want blame anyone because things happen for reasons. And I will know the purpose in the latter days of my life..

I roam around the forums to see where I could stay here. I have introduced myself to CF Teens Section and also in the Welcome Center Forum. I hope to meet new friends here and to deepen my faith.

God bless!

Hi noise, welcome to the forums. So u said u became deaf? Im not trying to get all sentimental or pity like, but i wouldnt mind hearing your story of what happened in your case. Often people get hit in the head unintentionally or get blasted with a really loud sound or something.

Also, i would recommend checking out www.ibethel.org . They are a Bible believing church and they regularly (probably every week, if not more) have healings going on, from cancer, to M.S., to limbs growing back, deaf and muteness, and even have seen people saved from death. I would encourage you to never lose that desire to want to be healed (and pursue it from at least time to time), even if u have to leave it in a side corner of your heart because sometimes things dont come right away. Jesus said to the man who had been an invalid for 38 years: ""Do you want to get well?" That man hadnt lost his desire: "7Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me." And Jesus said to him: "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." I prayed for your healing.

But again, you are certainly more than a situation, and i look forward to getting to know you as i do the rest of the people here on the forums. welcome.

I think hearing-impaired implies you are deaf, either completely or a large portion of your hearing capacity is absent. Where as hard-of-hearing implies you do actually hear, but have problems to some degree with hearing.

I could be wrong though ^_^

haha! nope!

Sorry to derail.

Hearing-impaired is OLD SCHOOL! As soon as you feel yourself about to say 'hearing-impaired', stop and correct yourself with 'Hard of Hearing', or just say 'deaf'. Hearing-impaired is no longer politically correct.

I agree with deliciousBass, Reese is a beautiful name!

I thought hard of hearing was what women think men are!

Thanks for the update.

You are the first one here on CF to ask me how I became deaf. It was really traumatic for me but I have already moved on. I have moved on because of: (1) When my mum enrolled me in a SpEd school, I saw deaf students -- since birth they are deaf. But me, God still gave me a chance to hear the noise, the loud sounds, the melody, each note in the piano and to hear my voice and my family's voices for 10 years. (2) God has purpose why I have been like this; and (3) I should move on or else I will see my mum and dad crying because of what happened to me everyday.
It is now my chance to tell how I became deaf.

I honestly do not know the scientific reasons or even explanations to my condition. But it all happened because of an accident.

There was a Church concert in the old place that I lived in. I was 10 years old. I asked my brother (who was actually 18 years old) to drive me there since I am part of the event -- I was the pianist and part of the singing group. So, we borrowed dad's car. And we really needed to drive soo fast. Then the only thing that I can remember was the loud crack and bang!
My brother got a mild wiplash. But he easily recovered after a year and a half. Mum told me that my brother hugged me to protect me from that accident that's why he got that injury. (That's why I so much love my brother - I owe him my life). And mum also added, without my brother protecting me, I might be in Heaven now.

I have undergone two surgeries before and it was too expensive. I do not know what happened to my eardrums. And I told my dad to not set me in another surgery since I saw them how they work hard for me to hear. I told my parents that I am all fine with my condition. Everything is normal except of my hearing sense. I got friends who are completely have senses.

I felt how God works throughout my life and my family's life. That's why I am thanking Him without doubts. Instead blaming God for what happened to me, I am thanking Him and loving Him for this wonderful plans for me.

Wow Reese...not only is your story amazing, but your ATTITUDE is absolutely beautiful. Your gratitude, faith, peace, and strength really shine through. I have a feeling you will be a blessing to anyone who knows you :)

May I ask - are you from another country? Your writing sounds a bit like English might be your 2nd language. I understand this could also result from being deaf.
