The rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.
1 John 5
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

I read on another thread that "blaspheming the Holy Spirit" is an unforgiveable sin. In other words, once you do that you have no chance at redemption no matter what you do.
Whether or not you believe this, I have two questions:
1) what Biblical verses support this idea?
2) exactly how does one "blaspheme the Holy Spirit"?

2) Basically, not becoming saved.

I was taught that if the Holy Spirit testifies to you that something is true, then you turn around and tell everyone it isn't true, then that is unforgiveable.
As for not being saved? I don't think that is unforgiveable. That would mean that a person who is an atheist all their life, is never forgiven. How cruel is that.

The unforgivable sin is simply attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan. In Christ Pete
Thats what I wanted to say but I don't think it came out as clear as you got it to come out, thanks Clay!Originally posted by Clay
the unforgivable sin is to live your life, denying Christ and denying his gift of salvation, and dying lost and doomed to hell.
