• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

My ocd was taunting me again and I had a hard time with ocd about the Holy Spirit. Then I got angry and I think I insulted the Holy Spirit. Have I commit the unforgivable sin. I am very afraid right now and I am shaking help me :(
I don't think verbally insulting the holy spirit will remove salvation, as I said in my last post. Apostacy has to do with a heart that no longer believes in Christ, that once did. They were saved, but they allowed sin to ship wreck their faith. It's not the sin itself that Jesus won't forgive, it's allowing the externals of sin to harden our heart causing doubt in his salvic work on the cross, I hope that makes sence. If you love the Lord and you have given Him your life, you are one of His you don't have to worry about loss of salvation.

Those who have committed the unforgivable sin aren’t the slightest bit worried about having done so. If you’re worried about it, or even acknowledge that it exists, you haven’t done it. No one can accidentally do it since it requires a full rejection of Christ as savior WITHOUT repentance. Get that? One can reject Christ and STILL come to salvation by repentance and asking for his salvation (as former Atheists have).

your right, Hebrews six mentions that with man repentance is impossible. I know of some apostates who have come back from the dead, but most do not. But you are right, if they desire salvation and they believe in the gospel they are saved. Sometimes we get angry at God in our hearts, we may even blaspheme him under our breath in moments of weakness. God sees all of that and knows that we are but flesh. It is a life long rejection of Him that He sees as apostacy.

Unpopular opinion that may be deleted: i was cured myself of ocd doing deliverance to myself, i detected a spirit, and the moment it went away, the constant intrusive thoughts stopped. Just my testimony.

Also, i had a lot of trouble from the devil about the unpardonable sin, and is one of his favorite tactics to scare christians, also i don't think the unpardonable sin is saying something 'ugly' to the Holy spirit, there is something else involved.

The unforgivable sin is rejecting the Holy Spirit. A Christian recognizes that the Holy Spirit, God, and Jesus are one. So, a Christian cannot commit that sin. The Bible makes it clear over and over again that a Christian is chosen by God and cannot lose his/her salvation. Have you noticed that a main theme of the Bible is that GOD IS FAITHFUL? God will NOT let someone go who genuinely wants to be with Him. The Pharisees did not accept that Jesus worked by the Holy Spirit of God. They were saying bad things; they were lying. So, Jesus said those words TO THEM. Not to you. Read the passage-- and it explains that Jesus said what he said because the Pharisees first said what they said. It isn't about you saying some wrong "magic words." It's about the fact that they lied about the Spirit's testimony that Jesus is the Messiah. That is why Romans 8:1 truthfully says there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Because the only unforgivable sin is not accepting Jesus as the Messiah.

If you trust in His sacrifice, you have not committed it. God knows we have OCD. Put your focus on God's sacrifice for you. You are not under the law, He will keep you.

People who worry about the unpardonable sin usually have enough conscience for it not to apply to them...

That's true but even with extreme OCD, you can become numb but ache in your head forgiveness. Our emotions don't always match with what we know in our head.

So important for one's instincts and experience to become well attuned with God's Word, prayerfully, right? otherwise other influences and habits can encroach...

You can't help it sometimes. You are concerned in your mind and sometimes can't eat because you're sad you might of committed it. OCD gives you so many false worries, you become numb. You even start over analyzing your emtions and how you pray..every little thing you can think of. It's a doubting disease. But God knows our hearts.

Once you let your mind rest, your feelings come back. Just today, was the first time I cried in a while while praying to God. It was because I wasn't checking my emtions and worrying if they were right.
