Unfair...

I personally think that is so unfair that someone that is 16 or better yet 17 cant come into this page and talk about there experiences just like everyone else. I will be the first one to say that I am not 18...I will be this year but not right now, and I dont think that it is right that I cant come in here and talk to people about my experiences as a child. I know what its like to have just hotdogs in the house, I know what its like to be raped and left to die. I know what its like to only be able to trust one thing and that be God. Now why I cant come in here and share my feelings and my life is beyond me. I may not be 18 but I have been through hell and back in my 17 years of life. I wish that you could understand that just because Im not 18 doent mean I havent started college or I havent graduated high school, because well I have.
Some of the rules like "dont be sarcastic" come on...That is DUMB! I cant stress it enough how stupid people can be just to make money or just to get some attention from a forum like this. I love this place, its a place I can come and spill my guts and not worry about my mom or anyone finding out. But the rules have gone out of hand. I hate to be rude but sometimes thats what it takes to get your point across. I hope people dont hate because I told them the truth, but you know sometimes the truth hurts

its for the reason that we cant go into the youth board to talk even though we were teenagers once...

I understand your frustration... I think all of us have had that frustration at some point or another. However, I don't think that this is that big of a deal. If we are going to have age-specific groups on this forum, then there has to be a line somewhere. The "line" for this specific forum is 18 (the age of majority in most nations/states). If the limit was changed to 17 then there would surely be a 16-year-old who wanted it changed.

I, quite-frankly, do not care who posts where and I certainly would not dare say that your opinion doesn't matter. It sounds as if you have experienced things that I never want to experience and I am a firm believer that we can all learn from each other. My point is just to say that the "grass is always greener on the other side" and there are plenty of forums where people of all ages and faiths can post... there's nothing particularly special about this one.

I didn't even know anyone paid attention to the age stuff. I just figured that the YA forum would be for the college/career age people who can relate with each other. It's not like we have any secret "18 and over" discussions The only reason I would see for not posting here is the same reason I don't post in the marriage ministry forum - I haven't shared their experiences. But do what you want - read and post as you like.

Most of the rules we have here have arisen to solve an issue that has been missed by foresight. Yes, I agree that some of the rules appear rather odd. But they have probably come to be for the sake of running the site well, or to solve a problem, as I just said, that we did not foresee. So we have nothing against anyone, we just need to preserve our sanity and odd rules are usually the result of said attempted preservation.
