Cuz women relied on their bodies to know what it's doing because God made them that way. But today, women rely fully on hospital care. God help us if no medical help is available, cuz many young women just dont know what to do either if they are birthing or if a friend/relative is birthing. This is something I'd like to learn, so that by chance I dont make it to the hospital (Birthing at home can be expensive), my husband and I will know what to do.

But that's the main premise of the medical community, pretty much makes people feel stupid and takes away intuition and replaces it with blind faith that the medical community is the one who births, saves, heals, and buries, lol.

The punchline is, they lied because they didnt want to have to carry out Pharoh's command to kill the boys when they are born.

I was half-hoping for a joke that linked the two sentences together.
Actual passage: exodus 1:8-22

The midwives were making that claim - that could have been part white lie, partly due to God blessing Hebrew women with good health, part due to extreme fitness from slave labour.

It is insulting to women to suggest that modern women are ''lazy'' in labour e.g. a lot of specialists have to protect themselves from lawsuits. A lot of women still die during labour in third world countries still.
