Understanding Today's Readings

I found Fr. Phil Bloom's homily on today's "marriage" theme interesting.

I thought I'd share this with you...

Hi BAchristian . .

Regarding today's reading .. . As I listened to the homily, I started to realize things I had never realized before . .and when we broke away for our class as those coming into the Church, we dwelt on this gospel reading . .

I suddenly began to see how the whole of salvation history is mirrored in this reading . . I have many thoughts, not all well formed, that are going to occupy me for some time to come!

I felt the same way today when we were dismissed...

I learned something new about today's Gospel reading.

The wedding at Cana is wherer "Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs".

At a wedding. To show the significance of God the groom, and the Church the bride.

And the 6 stone water jars, represent the 6 days of Creation.

And we see Jesus re-create water into the finest wine.
WE are the water which will be re-created by Jesus.
