Underoath: They're Only Chasing Safety

its horrible. It shouldnt even be underoath. Listen to their cd "Acts of Depression" or "Cries of the Past." Those are good.

yes. this cd is horrible. its not even what underoath used to be...at all! you would think a band would change alittle...but this is horrible went from breakdown hardcore, to hardcore/black metal...to emo?!?!

I like emo. Matter of fact, Emery is one of my favorite bands.

I've only heard a couple from this album. I like their old stuff too.

indeed the old stuff is better... this album isn't THAT bad though... just pretend it's not underoath...

Most bands change, that really shouldn't be such a surprise. I like Only Chasing Safety, it's a really good screamo cd, and the vocals are awesome. Changing of the Times is also a good cd I liked some of those songs and it made for really good driving music, but I like the change on this new one too. I don't think it'll last too long, they're probably keep progressing onward and that's good, ya got respect that even if you don't like it.

the changing of times is good, but only chasing safety isn't. i dont think.

but it isn't screamo... screamo isn't merely emo with screaming in it...its a mixure of indie/emo(bright eyes, american football, deathcab for cutie) with grindcore(the locust, daughters, pig destoyer, the red chord)

to make music that is the music of bands such as circle takes the square and the blood brothers..and many others.


ide cosider all (todays defination of..)screamo and emocore...as just "emo" for emo stands for emotive hardore.... there is allready the core in it. it means all the hardcore bands decided to do soemthing new... "emotive hardcore"

i duuno i felt like talking about music heh. i do like some emo not that much. i like indie rock much much better. alot of emo is annoying to me. more like the "soft song off of a pop punk cd" now. not as "emotive"

I think Underoath will never release a song that is the calibur of "When the Sun Sleeps" , but overall the new album is alright. I enjoy "Down Set Go" and " A Boy Brushed Red..."

It's good, but the tempo fluctuates way too much and it's too short. Alone in December and When the Sun Sleeps are still their best songs, IMO.

underoath is awesome, and they're only chasing safety is pretty good, I bought it but they're older stuff in my opinion is better.
