under spiritual attack!

Ever since I've been trying to be closer to God I feel under spiritual attack! Please pray for me!!!!! I need God's strength to fight the mental battle against the constant whispers of the evil one, who just won't let up. I've fallen into depression and need prayer to discern which thoughts are lies and doubts. Please pray that God will help me fight these thoughts and this battle.

I'll pray for God to give you strength, discernment, and help you with your walk. Just remember God said that nobody can pluck you out of His hands. And remember to never give up, use the Bible as a weapon against any attack, for it cuts like a two-edged sword.

Lies and doubts are very similar. Satan will speak directly to you. My advice is to read the New Testament, go to Bible studies (& speak up, what God inspires you to say) and praise God always & pray also. It is hard for Satan to deal with you worshiping God. His throne room in your life is abandoned. He leaves.

Just wanted you to know I'm praying for you. I also had a thought. I once heard a very solid reputable pastor point out that in times of warfare it is important to be sure we "spiritually house clean," meaning get rid of anything that might give permission to the demons to stay. He told a story of trying to cast out demons from a boy (I'm not at all implying you are possessed, but this applies to attack as well). The demons wouldn't leave and when asked why they said they had permission to stay because of some baskets that were in the building. It turned out the baskets were antiques that had been used in pagan rituals long ago. The demons had attached themselves. The pastors destroyed the baskets and then were able to the demons from the boy.

The warfare in my life has been intense and often. I'm no expert, but I don't let anything with the devil's fingerprints on it in my home, even magazines with astrological readings and even yoga; they've gotta go. I don't even take them out of the mail box. I leave them there til trash day and toss them.

The attachments that we personally have with sin must be removed (a part of our repentance). It is a good idea to remove foreign objects to our faith. However, this could include such objects of indulgences as articles that make for unhealthy eating and lusting after foods. The demons of sins abound in all of the world and its desires. Cleaning house might have to be accomplished like the early believers did, sell the property and give it to the poor. We negotiate our Christian lives with that of the world, however, this implies that we compromise our faith to live at peace between our taste buds & our growing waist lines and immorality pouring into our home by the internet and TV. There could be a call one day for Christians to get out of the world. For now, we try to make a sanctuary for our faith to thrive in. Read the Bible, pray often, speak what God would have you and do not sin (yet realizing we are humans and children of God, pray that he will chasten us always, do pray this).
