• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

ATTN Pastors,

It's a regrettable saddness that their are NO Lutheran Pators on our CF Chaplaincy Team!! Every time someone needs advice and guidance, they must go to someone who is NOT an ordained Lutheran Minister!! Can you imagine this!?

Well, it turns out that the upper Staff is seeking new recruits to join the Chaplaincy Team. So, if you're interested in serving the Lord in this capacity, Post here or PM myself or one of the Advisors.

Thank you!

I am not an ordained Lutheran Pastor yet... but in 9-12 months it should be so.

Could you say more about what is involved? How much time must be devoted to CF?

This is not the official guidelines (I couldn't find any up-to-date!)

But generally, any Staff member is required to be online for at least 1 hour 4 days a week. A Chaplain moderates and answers questions in the "Ask a Chaplain" forum. Other than that, they do Pastoral things for Staff and Members alike.

I'll see if I can get anything more specific..

Also, one also could become a Chaplain if he has a License for Ministry.

License for ministry in what sense? Different denominations have different standards. I could have been a pastor in many evangelical churches years ago, for example.

That would be appreciated. I don't have tons of time, especially going into my final year, but this is something I might consider especially at 4 hours a week.

Hello,

We need more chaplains to work in the Ask a Chaplain forum and to also make their presence known and felt throughout the forum.

Catholic Priests, Orthodox Priests, Licensed or Ordained Protestant Ministers are all welcome.

You won't have to work a lot of hours we just want a good representation of all the major denominations if possible.

Please send a pm to one of our Advisers to apply

Thank you and God bless.

Chaplain Sacerdote

I can understand that. Folks can say anything they want about themselves on the internet, with very few checks and balances. If I were going to talk to a chaplain online, I'd want to know that someone had at least checked to see if he really were one.

I had once inquired about being a CF chaplain and was told I needed to submit my certificate of ordination.

I was actually going to ask you if you were interested... ^_^

Are doing it?

It might be interesting to try out.
