  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why dark chocolate is good for your heart -- ScienceDaily

It might seem too good to be true, but dark chocolate is good for you and scientists now know why. Dark chocolate helps restore flexibility to arteries while also preventing white blood cells from sticking to the walls of blood vessels. Both arterial stiffness and white blood cell adhesion are known factors that play a significant role in atherosclerosis. What's more, the scientists also found that increasing the flavanol content of dark chocolate did not change this effect.
Just another wonderful reason to love coffee and chocolate!

Except when you can't stand bitter tastes like me. I gag even at the smell of coffee.

I wish coffee tasted as good as it smells (to me.)

I love both coffee and chocolate. Nice to know it's good for me.

Hopefully they never find out that smoking is also good for ones health... disgusting habit in so many other ways.

With sugar and enough cream, it cuts the bitter taste quite well. :) The first thing I do every morning is start the coffee pot. I also love dark chocolate. I used to consider them to be big vises, but the more studies they do, the more I'm starting to believe that in terms of my health, I've actually been doing myself a favor all these years. :)

I don't think you have anything to worry about on that score.

Umm. If you add sugar and cream isn't it milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate? Or is the cocoa processed differently for the different kinds? I was assuming that the reason "dark" chocolate is specifically mentioned is that they're saying the chocolate is better for you if you don't add all the sugar and cream.

FWIW, I actually prefer dark chocolate. When I eat an Oreo I'm always tempted to scrape out the cream center and eat just the cookie part.
