Why are people always closing threads just because they get off track? Don't we get some sort of warning, or something?

I read a thread and get interested enough to reply only to find that it's been closed before I'm able. :/

I hate it when threads are way off-topic, like the
"So if you won't marry a non-virgin". The discussion about the hymen and how exciting it will be to break one was not only TMI, but disgusting!!!

I mostly certainly wasn't expecting that and if that's what is was about, goodness knows i wouldnt have clicked on it!

Moral of the story: Start a new thread if you're going to hijack.....

I've got no problem with someone going off topic after a thread has gone on for a long time and everybody's pretty much said everything there is to be said.

But the Beer Thread in the men's forum? Like 700 posts already, all about ONE THING.

I think that one was a pretty good example of everybody wanting to continue, but everybody had already said everything.

I totally agree, Tink, that is pretty much rude. There are exceptions, of course, like the one listed; but a new thread should be started or the disgusting posts deleted.

For everyone else in here that is wanting to know. The reason why some threads have been closed here of late in this forum is because of all the flaming and the reports that we have been getting as Mod's and staff. We also sometimes have the OP PM us and let us know that they want the thread closed because of it getting off track, and unless it has gotten really out of line, we ask the OP if it is ok that we close it before we do, or atleast try to anyways (I know that I do).

If anyone else has anymore questions about this please feel free to PM me or one of the other Mods in this forum and we would be glad to answer them.
