• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello  ...I've just been pre-diagnosed with UC (had flexi-sigmoidoscopy which showed what looked like UC and biopsies taken which haven't had results for yet). And my triggers are dairy (lactose) and I'm 9 weeks pregnant. I got out of hospital 5 days ago after a 14 day stay and have been eating 6 meals a day to put on weight (lost 2 stone in 6 weeks, down from 9.5 st to 7.5st) and I've managed to put on half a stone in these past 5 days. Praise God!!!

Yesterday, I felt the most exhausted I've felt in about a week; yesterday afternoon I developed a very tender stomach, eggy burps and gone from a 4 on the Bristol stool chart to a 6...is it likely that I overdid it by going to a wedding reception last night and dancing with my husband for about 20 minutes and carrying my 2 year old around quite a bit? But then I also tried a lacto-free version of philadelphia soft cheese 2 days ago but had no immediate symptoms...could it be that? Or a combination of the two? Or was there some hidden milk in something else I ate at the wedding? It is possible... I just felt so awful compared to the day before when I felt the best I've felt in months. Last night I slept awfully, with so much gas and distended abdomen, and I was back to liquid diarrhoea by 5am. Praise God though, because I sent out a prayer request and by 9am, the bloating had completely gone, along with the gas and I haven't had a bowel movement since 9am either! Still getting slight eggy burps - wondering why this is and what I could do to avoid it. I've begun to keep a food diary too and visited my new GP today for a prescription to get something to deal with the gas and painful bloating.

I tried logging on to Crohn's and Colitis forums but it's not really the kind of support I'm looking for...God isn't mentioned anywhere, although I do tell them that God is looking after me and will carry me and deliver me through...so will continue to evangelise and share how Jesus is looking after me. But would rather talk to other Christians in this situation :amen:

Anyone out there? x x x

Hi!!!! I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis about 15 years ago. 9 years ago I had to have my colon removed and now have a jpouch. I'm having trouble in my small intestine now so I'm going through some testing to see if I have crohns now. I definately understand what you are going through.
