Uhm...[Possible Triggers]

I have no idea if this is allowed or not but, I need some help...well, not me but...I know someone who might be, but...I need some help figuring it out:

I tried Google Search, but I came up with nothing, and I guess it's kind of urgent? Maybe I'm paranoid, but recently, my boss/best friend has expressed some concerns for our coworker, whom she had to rush to the ER because our coworker apparently hit her head on a cement wall and was bleeding pretty badly...anyways, the concern is that her boyfriend that she's living with is abusing her.

I was just wondering, because it was suggested that I keep an eye on her as well, to see if she exhibits any signs, and I was wondering three things:

What should I look out for?
And if it turns out to be true, how do I approach her?
Or, should I just flat out ask her?

I think it's great you are concerned. It isn't a pleasant topic but one we need to be aware of ... so I applaud you. I have included a link with this post. Hopefully it's helpful.

Many times there is more than one type of abuse occurring. One thing I would stress is that the abused can feel much shame. Some times over what is done to them, the lie they may believe that they aren't lovable / worthy or that it's their fault. An abused person can carry much shame and be afraid of rejection, loneliness and life without their abuser, etc. Each person is individual but there are constants when it comes to abuse such as secretiveness, etc. I think the above link will be helpful.
