  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

jeez. I just got smacked down!
Money has been REALLY tight since Christmas and I'm down to less than $1 in cash and about $45 on 2 credit cards. My mortgage, car payment and car insurance until this paycheck, but that was GONNA be ok because today is payday.

Well. Last week I filed the forms to have additional taxes withheld from my paycheck, since I'd done my 2003 taxes and found I owed addl. money to the IRS. So I'd filled out these forms asking them to take out a little more from my paycheck.

Payroll submitted it wrong... instead of keeping me "Single plus 3 deductions" they changed me to "single, no deductions" (the HIGHEST tax rate) and THEN added the addl. tax amount I wanted withdrawn to that. Result is I'm $800 poorer this paycheck.

I have enough to pay my mortgage, but it'll overdraw me by a few dollars. I have NOTHING left for the car pmt or insurance, which are both due next week. I also have less than $50 to live on (including gas and toll money) for two weeks.

Uh... :sorry: I just applied for a credit card today, who knows if or when it'll be approved. But w/my bank acct overdrawn and my other cards maxed out, I'm not sure that'll impress too much! LOL

Please pray for me... can't think of anything to do other than just pray.
I *could* go take $50 or so out of my bank account before my mortgage pmt clears. The bank would clear my mortgage anyway and I'd have a little more to make it on. Would that be just WRONG?? I mean, the bank's gonna hit for a $30 overdraft whether I do that or not.
