  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lets not rule out also the concept of transpermia, life arising in one place and moving to others by meteoric impacts for example though.
There is something about the basic nature of life in that it is so darn pervasive. So personally, I’d find it odd if there weren’t life on other planets. I just can’t believe that life isn’t pervasive enough to where it couldn’t find avenues to get to other planets. And I don’t think God limits the outstretched arms of life in that way either.

Lets not rule out that God did what he said he done and demons are real as the bible stated and God's word is perfect
There are many reasons why the 6 day creation story must stand, mainly though, before Adam and Eve ate of the fruit death didnt exist on the Earth. If that is wrong then the bible is all wrong
Kent Hovinds DVD's explain Gods perfect creation

I know this will be the source of much argument, but for me the bible is divinely inspired, men (flawed men) feeling the spirit and writing, not the infallible word of God, as I think the only place that has ever been written is in the soul. You are free to believe what you like, it's not my place to judge that. The most important thing is that you are happy in your life according to the gospel, that we recognise that we have more in common than in difference and get on with doing good works as we are intended.

I have always found among Christians that difference is always amplified, the nail that sticks out is hammered down as they would say in Japan. I have a difficult time believing that the Lord would place the most powerful analytical tool yet known to us right between our ears and then discourage us from using it to better understand Him and his creation. Respect of subjectivity is something I think more Christians need to appreciate, this follows with Christ's wish for us to judge ourselves only and not others.

If you were to take a six sided die and make it the size of a house and then stand a man on each side of it, they would each see a different number, but they would all be seeing the same object. We have different ways of understanding our Lord, all different roads, ultimately all lead back to Him.

Yes. The Bible endorses what the secular world terms UFOs:

Ezekiel 1 (New International Version)

The Living Creatures and the Glory of the Lord

1 In the [a] thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.
2 On the fifth of the month—it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin- 3 the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, [b] by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. [c] There the hand of the LORD was upon him.
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north—an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, 5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man, 6 but each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze. 8 Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings, 9 and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.
10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle. 11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out upward; each had two wings, one touching the wing of another creature on either side, and two wings covering its body. 12 Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went. 13 The appearance of the living creatures was like burning coals of fire or like torches. Fire moved back and forth among the creatures; it was bright, and lightning flashed out of it. 14 The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.
15 As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. 16 This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. 17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not turn about [d] as the creatures went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
19 When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose. 20 Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 21 When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked like an expanse, sparkling like ice, and awesome. 23 Under the expanse their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had two wings covering its body. 24 When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, [e] like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings. 25 Then there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. 26 Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, [f] and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. 27 I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

He saw this in a vision. This hardly counts as a U.F.O. in the secular sense. This is merely popular thought these days and wishful thinking.

What was 'the star' of Bethlehem? It was obviously not a star. It was close (well within the earth's atmosphere) and appeared to be piloted since it knew exactly where it was going and could be followed by people on the ground. Finally, it came to a stop over a man-made structure (an inn and adjoining stable) with pin-point accuracy. As said, it was not a star. What was it?

Then again, if we have a hankering for something supernatural or 'out of this world' then I guess God fits that criteria quite well . . .

The bible also speaks of burning bushes, clouds that speak, pillars of fire that guide people by night, animals that speak with human voices, and other sorts of miracles that defy nature.

This is hardly a smoking gun in favor of ufos in the secular sense.

Here is what Billy Graham wrote on the subject of life on other planets:

"There may be intelligent life on other planets—but if so, the Bible doesn't mention it. If there is, it is because God put them there (just as He put us here), and their purpose is to glorify and serve God (just as ours is)."

But you haven't pesonally come across any demons yourself. Right?

.

Are you asking me or telling me
Yes more than a few demons have I come across in my life

Its funny how so many people study what the government and other learning institutes tell them to study but regarding the things of God and his word they believe whatever they hear or want to believe.
I wonder why studying God his word and a Christian perspective of aliens and creationism is so daunting but accepting the words of man based solely on his opinion is so acceptable

Red shift and blue shift teach that the Earth is in the centre of the known universe. We are it, Christ came for mankind

Satan will probably show up in a spaceship claiming to be an ascended master, the messiah, and many of the elect (us) will believe him

The book is called "Alien Intrusion"
Christ taught demons not aliens. Aliens are not mentioned in the Bible because they are not part of Gods creation
Go study it

Does the Bible endorse the existence of UFOs?

Firstly on the question first posed, I must ask, what is your definition of UFOs? if we take its literal meaning then yes the Bible is NOT contradicted, nor denied, altered, negated or any other term, by the existence of an un-identified object that flies. At one point people were wondering what the B52 bomber was... it flew and some people had know idea what it was.

If we are going on the assumption that UFOs are aliens (which arent always the case, but hey a common misconception) and that aliens are little green men, then we have no conclusive 'evidence' apart from witness testimonies and some quite shoddy film work to make that conclusion either way.

in either case, the bible is a created work for human beings and the history of earth. And when it talks about 'space' really it doesnt say much apart from the constant reminder that the heavens were created by God for his glory. I think that is the one certain thing we can take out of the bible and its cometary of aliens.

Hey, it's probably a bunch o crap, but, there is a pretty big buzz in th UFO community about the Vatican prepairing for disclosure on extra terrestrial evidence.

Certainly not as much as of a buzz as the Billy Meier followers, or the possibility of the US releasing material!

I have looked into this kinda stuff ALOT and Im still yet to hear any deacent arguement as to whether intelligent life actually lives outside of humanity and the planet it dwells on, let alone whether it has any impact on what the bible says.

What ever you'd like to share. Place, what happened, when...anything else that you thank of.

.

Sure, a possessed woman in a bible study bound by a spirit of addiction who growled and threw fits at being touched . . . and when the spirit was addressed and rebuked she was quite as a lamb.

A girlfriend in my room speaking out of both sides of her mouth and in the third person . . . then testified afterward that she could see the whole thing but she was "out" of her body and something else was controlling her

a 14 yr old 100 lb girl with the strength of 10 men whose eyes changed shape in front of me

a 4 yr old little girl whose eyes went TOTALLY BLACK (ALL OF HER EYE) as she flew into a rage tossing things and growling

me personally when a demon removed itself from me and I FELT it leave through my chest and then its presence exit the room

I could go on . ..
