Jesus left us with authority, a free will , assistance 24-7-365 ... the problem is, we would rather shake our heads, wring our hands, and not do squat to change what is ...the mess we have is the result of 2000 years of hedonism , idolitry, and pride ... don't blame God for the work of our blood stained hands ... don't work

Exactly, so why couldn't God have taken away our ability to cut ourselves off from life? We'd have free will in almost every other regard.

As it is now, there are a lot of things that God chooses for us without us having free will. (e.g being born)

I think what we're debating is whether God could have made it otherwise.

because that would be control, manipulation, command, and tyranny
authentic love does not demand anything?
