Two Frogs
Two frogs fell into a can of cream, (or so it has been told).
The sides of the can were shiny and steep, the cream was deep and cold.
"Oh, what's the use?" said Number One, "It's plain no help's around."
"Good-bye, my friend. Good-bye, cruel world." And weeping still, he drowned.
But Number Two, of sterner stuff, dog-paddled in surprise,
And as he licked his creamy lips and blinked his creamy eyes,
"I'll swim at least a while" he thought (or so it has been said),
"It really couldn't help the world if one more frog were dead."
An hour or more he kicked and swam, not once did he stop to mutter,
Then hopped out from the island he made of fresh, churned butter.
Hebrews 12:1-3 ... let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
2 Cor 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Hebrews 6:19-20 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Lord remind each of us that things are not always what they seem. Help each of us fix our eyes on Jesus so that we may run the 'race' with perserverance. Thank You Lord that as we do this we will not lose heart or grow weary. Thank You for our hope that is Jesus Christ. Anchor our hope securely in Christ.
