So yeah, I guess it was inferred from my faith icon. If I had made the exact same post, and had an atheist icon under my name, should atheists still be offended? Should Christians have been offended?
And if they both have beer pick the atheist!
The Christian is apt to just have 3.2%.

Beer brewed in many Christian monasteries ranges from about 6% to over 10%.
No, it's your assumption that the answer is obvious, even though relevant information is sparse. You've only revealed your own prejudices.
Yes others have said that. How did I reveal my assumption?
Haven't you heard that Christians are scared of a big man in the sky who might punish them for doing bad things?
If you gotta gamble, you gotta play the probabilities. But fair enough.
This is inspired by Tree Of Life's "Persuasiveness of the Christian Community" thread. I didn't want to hijack that one.
You were pretty blatant in your assumptions.
Well yeah, but that was apart from the OP. Those were my answers to the question, not assumptions built into it. Anyone's free to disagree with my answer, but I honestly didn't expect to get called names for asking the question.
What was the perceived need to ask the question in the first place?
It's a discussion forum. And it was influenced by some negativity towards Christians in the other thread, as I mentioned, and also by some recent cross-website threads between CF and AtheistForums which were discussing mutual stereotypes, and where atheists also displayed negative stereotypes of Christians; quite a bit more than Christians did toward atheists.
yes but when i said i consider both choices to be equal in nature you seemed to imply i should consider the christian better just on his belief alone. i am now curious as to why that is?It's a discussion forum. Uh-huh. And did your responses, and the responses of other Christians in this thread undermine or support those steretypes?

Everyone would choose the Christian and they know it. No one will admit this, though.

Towards the end of the thread he gives links to the responses from AtheistForums. It's a tiny sample of people on both sides, but sort of interesting I guess.
1. have never really thought deeply about our beliefs - that we're Christian just because that's what our upbringing taught us;
2. are anti-science;
3. are only Christian because we fear hell;
4. are bigots, and are hateful of people who believe differently or live differently;
5. think we're more moral than others (which is a little off-base because Christianity is for sinners )
