  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've always enjoyed Twilight Zone shows in their many versions. There's the original 1950's originals, or the remakes and even the radio shows. One of my favourite was "Walking Distance" about a middle aged man driving back to his home town and goes back in time to when he was a boy. It taught a good lesson not to looking back at the good days and wishing to be there but to always looking to the potential of your present life and to make something positive of it. Just curious if anyone might like to talk about this or what your favourite episode was.

I grew up on the Twilight Zone - I think I started watching it in my early teens 30 years ago. There are so many great episodes to name but you've gotta love "Living Doll", "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street", and the seminal classic "Eye of the Beholder". I could name others...one of the best things I love about the original series is how Rod Serling is always shown with a lit cigarette between his fingers - they'd never ever allow that today!
