I must say, interesting article.

They should have also focused more on the technological side of things. In the past ten years, much greater access to cell phones, the internet, instant messaging, cable television, etc. All this means greater emphasis on peer to peer relationships rather than parent to child relationships, at increasingly earlier ages.

May I also add that tweens are especially dumb and annoying. They try to act cool, but are still quite naive.

Communication is the key. Being involved with your children's lives at home, school and recreation. One needs to remember, the parents make the rules.
