At our university, they're always threatening to use, but I'm not sure how many of the professors actually use it. I write my own papers so I'm not really worried about it. Plus, I'm not sure how many languages that system even encompasses. I take a lot of Spanish courses and all of my papers have to be completely in Spanish. Because of my irregular writing pattern due to the fact I don't speak the language natively, I don't think I have to worry about it falsely picking up as plagiarism.

I've used it, I think it's a pain. The site isn't difficult, but still.

I'm using it in one of my grad schools. After the first time we used it, I can see why he does. Practically everyone plag. It was sad actually.

I do think it's a pain in the butt because we submitt it there and in an e-mail to him.

I've had to use it for one or two of my classes, but it's not that widely used at my university - at least not in the subjects I take (Sociology/Social Work).
I know so many people who have had trouble with it though, and agree about the lack of trust seeming odd, but on the other hand, I quite like the security of having my originality report as "proof" that my work is mine, in case it ever does come under suspicion.

EDIT: Oh! This was my first post! Hurrah! I'm Holly, I'm 20 and from Christchurch, New Zealand. I'm currently coming to the end of my second year at university, and have one more year to go, considering all our degrees over here only run for 3 years.
