Brethren,

I have a confession to make. I bought a video console. My own in nearly 10 years. That's right, as a PC gamer (since '97), I have turned to the Dark Side. About every two years I set aside money for upgrading my rig. This year with all the console promotions and with money being tight, I reevaluated my gaming needs. I decided to jump ship on PC gaming and which over to the console. I'll still get most of my titles (except MMOs and RTSs) but won't have to worry about compatibly issues.

Still, I can't help but feel a little dirty about the whole thing. Either way, I went with the PS3 inFamous bundle from NewEgg for $239.99. Of course, Sam's had it for $249.00 and included a second controller. I then picked up Mass Effect 2 for the PC on Steam for $6 and Mass Effect 3 for the PS3 at Sam's for $15.

Anyways, I need to go wash myself off.

I agree. But, most modern games can be classified as "console ports" considering you really don't need to use more than 10 or so buttons (except for MMOs and RTSs). The key is getting used to the gamepad. Worse case scenario, I plug in my keyboard and mouse. ;)

A PC gaming rig is just too time consuming and cash consuming to constantly upgrade, It would get tremendously annoying to me,
Eh? I've never had a crash and a computer takes me about an hour to build. Not sure what you're on about.

This Thread has turn into a childish PC Gaming elitist Master Race Thread,
Awww, is someone butthurt because they feel inferior? j/k

Seriously though, I don't see any elitism, merely people expressing their opinions on the topic. Just as many people prefer console over PC, and that is fine, though they miss out on quite a bit by doing so.

I think our outlets change as our situations change. I used to be a hard core PC gamer, loved modding, MMOs, RTS, etc. Now I just don't have the time and it was really bugging me seeing a $2500 gaming PC just sit there day after day, depreciating into obsolescence.

The day they release a good RTS on console with full kb/m support is the day I'm waiting for. That's about all I miss about it. Well, and the true analogue of mouse look.

I could never get into PC gaming. Just not into it. Even when I did Fallout 3 on the computer so I could play on the plane to Florida, I bought a corded mini controller because using the keyboard was sending me over the edge.

Its OK, just get the steambox when it comes out, you'll feel better :)
