Turning the Other Cheek and Guns

I expect you're right~~I'm 51 years old and have been legally carrying a gun for 20 years (and defensive knives for even longer) without incident..but then I'm 6'2" 230 lbs so predators tend to look for easier prey...

I too am 6'2" and 240 lbs, so I have had no incidents. Also, I had continued to train as a gymnast well into my 40's. I am not against guns. Hunting for meat is a legitimate purpose of the gun, but those tend to be rifles not hand guns. But in all my experiences with people who had been hostile towards me I had found that a soft answer turned away wrath and a word in due season as apples of gold in pictures of silver.

I will always fight back, because I love those I defend more than my own life. I will fight as though I have no intent to survive and will not quit until my enemies are felled or blood loss or severed tendons or central nervous shut down makes me. I have the knife and bayonet scars, the bullet holes to prove it. I am one torn up old ______, but I have gotten here because I always loved someone too much to let death take me, at that yes/no moment when the Reaper/Valkyries ask the question. EVERYTIME love has made the bleed just enough slower, EVERYTIME love has kept my wits in a state of shock. If it was ever about me, I would have died 20 or 30 good tries by dedicated and well armed men ago. .. but I didn't. Look at my scars, look at me, and ask why. . .. I'll tell you:love.

For me, personally, I have no problem using guns for self defense. If my health allowed it I would conceal carry, but my motor skills and eyesight due to my disability means that I CERTAINLY have no business personally with a firearm. I have no problem with people that feel they should not use force ( particularly lethal force to defend themselves) HOWEVER, and I am not just saying this due to being disabled I would feel this way no matter what which is that I have little to NO respect for anyone who would not do his or her best to defend OTHERS ( particularly if they could not defend themselves.

I'm in the same mindset. I was trained and continually train to be better to fight back harder. My family is more important than myself, and I will never let someone touch or hurt my family till I'm dead and out of the picture. Then it's in God's hands, but till then my every breath and bit of energy will go into defending my family. And I will use any tools I need to so. And if that means I carry daily to keep them safe then so be it. Haven't had to use lethal force yet, and pray I never do, but if I have to, I will be ready.
