Turning 40

Hello. I will be turning 40 years old in about 8 hours. This scares me as it is symbolic of all I have failed to accomplish by this time of my life. Perhaps I am putting too much pressure on myself. It is just a bit depressing I guess. I just had to express these feelings. Thanks.

I turned 40 a few years back. Worst thing that ever happened to me so I just put it behind me and decided never to touch it again.

Turning 40 was emotionally difficult for me, too. I totally understand. I have adjusted and life has gone on.

Now, I'm not too far off from 50 and I'm sure I will have a huge meltdown when that birthday arrives.

I hear ya, Brother. The year I turned 40 was one of the most turbulent of my entire life. Highest of highs, depths of the lows. I felt a lot of the same things, "here I am at 40 and what do I have to show for it?" and what I came up with nearly destroyed me.

makes me feel good about aging...he still refers to me as
his "kid-sister" when he brings me up in conversation around his friends or co-workers lol!
