If we read further we fnd that the cynical old writer of Ecclesiastes was pointing out that we don't really have much control over events. One could ask "Did God set the time for the Nazi Holocaust?" or "Did God set the time for Pol Pot and Year Zero?". The people who were caught up in those events had very little control.


The book concludes with the following words -



Don't expect to find Ecclesiastes in the "Self Help" section of your local bookstore. in fact the old reprobate said there were too many books.
