If someone was for example verbally attacking my wife I'd step in and tell them I would call the police. MAYBE I'd say something. But really we shouldn't say something mean back because were are Gods children. Which admittedly is not always easy for me. I've had to work hard to not fight with someone when they attack me (verbally I mean). We have to remember what we do reflects Christ. So if we swear at people for example then others will be like "Psh, some christian you are!". Which does annoy me but they are right.

Though I do believe it doesn't mean you always need to be a doormat. If someone even on this forum attacks me and doesn't relent. I block/ignore them so I see them no more. Because if I don't I will be tempted into saying something stupid. AKA turn the other cheek.
