Not yet, I think DH thinks its a waste of money. I really do want to go to one, though. I'm 5ft 2". Perhaps I'll see about talking to Dave about going to a Gyn. I told him earlier that as of tonight we stop the sex and he threw a fit ^_^

Aaaw poor guy! He must be so mistreated! ;)

You might want to go see one...you'd be surprised how much it'd help. She can at least give you good tips on prepping to conceive and you probably need a PAP to make sure you're healthy for the most part in that area :) .

That's not exactly true about men only having a limited amount of sperm. Basically it takes a while for the sperm to grow between each 'use'. For some men it can take up to 48 hours or so - there is no way for them to form if you are having sex that frequently.

I would recomend every other night around the time you ovulate.

The ovuwatch seems good for someone who hasn't been trying that long, I worry about women trying awhile expecting it to be the answer.

Sometimes insurance will cover an HSG - but sometimes it won't you'll just have to check. Also, the cost of one can vary dramatically based on where you get it done; if done at a Drs office it can be a lot cheaper than if they do it at a hospital.

Oh hon - you really need to have a pap done - please schedule an appointment. I know in America regular Drs can do one; so if you already have a Dr you like s/he can probably do it.

Since you are obviously sexually active (hehehe) you'll need to have one done.

usually you need them done quite a bit later in Australia. What is their relevance?

In America they are recomended at 18, or whenever you become sexually active.

I think they just make sure that everything is normal down there. They do a breast exam to see any lumps, and then they do the pap and then check to make sure your uterus is there, and ovaries, etc.

They also ask about your monthly cycles, and how long they are, if they are regular, etc.

In Aus the policy of most doctors is 1 year after you become sexually active or after the age of 18, whichever comes later. So if you're 18 and have been sexually active for a year then the doctor will want to give you a pap smear. Here is some info about it from the health department.

Your GP can do it, he/she will open the walls of the vagina and take a swab from the cervix. When you book, ask for a long appointment, it doesn't take ages but your doc will want to talk to you about it.

Also, from what I've read, some of the cost of the dye test is covered by medicare. You can also get it done privately through an OB in a private hospital where the OB will check out a whole lot of things at once. I'd want to have private cover before considering that personally.

It's odd how it is different between America and Aus.

In America they recomend going when you turn 18 or when you become sexually active; whichever comes first.

I'm leaving to go get some blood drawn, and then some breakfast.
