  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, now that I think about it, I believe the lord has told me fairly recently that it's time to write my book.... I don't need to do more brainstorming... I already have done that and know what I want to write about... so thanks for the push.

I began yesterday, starting with the introduction... I'm taking don's advice and not going to revise while I'm writing, I have made that mistake and it gives me a headache. But I'm reminding myself that this is only the first draft. I was thinking "ok, what do I write... how do I begin"... but then I prayed and it flowed naturally... writing the intro helped give me a map of which way to go with it.... then I wrote a very small first chapter and stopped at the second. It's a little scary.... but something I read in a book about writing said to just keep writing, every day... write.... that's the important thing I guess. Anymore pointers?

If you are anything like me, you'll have to be writing constantly in order to keep yourself in some type of reality.

People around me (Not all) could tell when I've written something that day and when I haven't. I tend to not function very well. I get lost in my mind, it's almost like dreaming on my feet.

Have a journal you could take everywhere. Tape recorder works great too, but be prepared to not be embarrassed when you stop someone mid sentence and talk into your recorder.

Most important and something I had failed to do in the past. Take yourself seriously, get rid of the inner critics negative talk. The critic in you will come in handy when you are polishing the script, but not while you are writing it.

And it is important to just write... and then write some more. I do morning pages... You just freehand write in a journal 3 pages every morning... no editing, doesn't have to be about anything important... just write, three pages every morning.

Also stick to some type of routine... I do Morning pages every morning (Big surprise) I also have two times I sit down to write during the day (You don't need two) the point is I sit every day at the same time for an alotted time. Even if I feel block, I write during that time and don't stop until my time is done.

What you are doing with this is forming a writing habit. Eventually your mind will be more than ready to write during these periods.

Have a routine... I make coffee, listen to some music... put on a cd really loud. close the door (Very important) and write...

I am not to be disturbed until I'm done (It helps if you have someone who is on the same page as you) If you are disturbed just deal with it.

But most important - Just write... write... and write some more.

Have a wonderful writing day.
