Talk about frustrating: Bible labels and descriptions emphasize they are "large print" and other people are very happy about that, but the so-called "large print" usually is smaller than 12. If I search for giant print Bibles, they give me 16-17 point prints. None of the NIV Study Bibles are size 14 all over, so I need to read it online to customize the font size universally.

That leaves me with two choices: PDF and EPUB. Has anyone ever used either to read an ebook? It must work perfectly on a 2018 iMac - no mobile devices accepted. I specifically want to read the one: "NIV Life Application Study Bible, Third Edition."

Maybe this? I only use online bibles nowadays.

I saw that, but have been confused about the need to buy it and do not know anything about EPUB.
We do bible studies in remote places with no services during the summer month so I have several stand alone bibles on my kindle. Also My Sword stand alone app on my Kindle and phone which has commentaries, notebooks etc, (a bunch of tools ). I don't present bible studies on paper but by way of apps or off the phone at Biblestudy tools or Bible Hub.I have my Kindle specifically for this purpose but can go out online too when there is wifi.

After about 1978 the NIV is a progressively worse botch job so I don't have that, I do have an older version on the Kindle but rarely use it. And I did purchase many but got free downloads too of some. They are cheap from the Kindle store. My PC has a couple plus E Sword. Now in zoom bible studies I use any of that plus my big Dakes NKJV that has information enough to present an entire class from, I just use a 5x7 size rectangular reading magnifier with that. A friend got me the magnifier from one of the bible book stores online, when she ordered a bible for a new believe.

You obviously ignored the part where I said I can't use mobile devices for Bible reading.

The NIV is all I know because my church in Ohio uses it. When I read a verse I know in another version, I sometimes feel like it is wrong because of my familiarity with the NIV. So I have not found a reason to get any other Bible translation.

If I was able to read small fonts, I would already have the hard copy. It must be on my desktop computer or I can't read the cross references, verses, maps, tables, notes, and charts.

I have viewed many Bible versions over the years; but have settled on the Scofield Study Bible version of the KJV; for it does not change the basic wording, but shows in the margins and footnote, explanations what the true meanings of words therein mean. It makes the Word of God very understandable. I avoid the many versions of men using modern wordings to try and show what God is telling us, which often can lead one astray.

Touch screens are nice to use and have magnify programs.

I absolutely hate touch screens.

My browser allows me to change the font size on webpages and zoom websites. All I need to know is how to get the Bible I want for my computer screen.

Kindle for Mac.

Wow. Even though the average customer rating is 4.5 stars, all of the most recent reviews are horrible. In all my years shopping at Amazon I had never seen that before with any product.

Nice try, but it does not specify I can read Kindle books on my computer. All the devices mentioned are of the mobile variety.

I found a website that sells what I want for both online and offline reading. The company suggested using the PDF file on a desktop computer. Considering the other prices I saw online, I guess $33 is not bad for a study Bible.

However, there is one last mental block: Although I made this my goal for the month, I feel like this is not the right time to do it. That is just the "putting it off" part of me talking, of course, but I need to fight that thought to get my credit card out and buy the Bible.
