Trying to keep Christ in Christmas

Every year it seems that I observe how the people who live near me, work with me etc..get busier and busier and forget to take time to pause and remember what the season is really about. It’s about the miraculous birth of God’s Son, and how through his birth , life , death and resurrection we have salvation. This salvation is a free gift to all who choose to believe yet there are so many who choose to turn their backs on Him. It truly makes me sad
So I’m trying to do my best I can to spread Christmas cheer by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and doing acts of kindness for my neighbors and people in need. I try to remember that I may be the only Christ that they see, and while I am imperfect, I still can be used to share Gods love.

Christmas is for children. I don't really mean that in a bad way. When adults expect a lot out of Christmas they're usually disappointed unless there are children or others who are dependent on the care of others involved.

Is it that important that Jesus was born on December 25th (determined by Constantine hundreds of years after Jesus was born?) rather than the other dates that historians have roughly estimated make more sense given the context and general likelihood based on the region's weather patterns?

I gave up Christmas and Easter (Celebrating Ishtar, Ashtoroth or Asherah,) years ago, once I realised the pagan roots of these dates. I'd much rather celebrate the biblical feasts established by God than pagan ones.

There was a time when I didn’t care for holidays. After awhile I realized my annoyance was the busyness and pressure people placed on themselves and others. It becomes a source of stress for everyone.

I’m warming to them once more on my terms. I won’t have overtly religious celebrations. I view them as opportunities for gathering and fellowshipping with friends and loved ones.
