  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am also a new Christian with about 1-year new life. I was baptized on the Resurrection day last year. In the past year, I struggled a lot but also read a lot inside and outside Bible. Now I feel more and more inside Jesus. Think about the disciples who followed Jesus Himself. They were very timid people. However, they became very brave, peaceful, and joyful even when they were being executed. How could they behave like this if they don't have proof of eternity and Jesus resurrection?
Hope this helps and help you strengthen your faith in Jesus!

Hi All,

My name is James, 33 from Essex, UK.

I hope you are well.

I believe but I am NOT yet saved I do not believe.

For the last year I have been researching, investigating and learning what I can, the research made me feel good, it made me want to become a better person.

Today I ordered a bible and intend on reading it. I want to be saved, I do believe Jesus died for my sins and I just wanted people to provide info on how they was saved, how they felt before and after.

I need guidance, I need to feel the love of Jesus, my life is very stressful and I could do with the love of the lord.

I have not been the nicest person in my life, I just want to be forgiven and to live my life the Christian way.

Can anyone help an inexperienced new Christian looking to be a better person?

Regards,
James.

Looking to be better person won't make you saved .
Also your statement "I believe but I am NOT yet saved I do not believe." is wrong according to what Jesus said .If you believe you have , if not you don't it's simple.

John 3:36 King James Version (KJV)
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Being "nice person " does not make you saved or not it's free gift not of works Ephesians 2:8-9

Read my message will help you :bye:

Hello James! Welcome to the Christian Forum! :) Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Praise be to God that you want to respond the desire that you have in your heart. I encourage you to surrender, repent, turn to God and seek His Divine Will. In other words what is the purpose that Our Lord has for your life? Being a follower of Jesus means that we need to deny ourselves, take our daily crosses and follow Him. Let me tell you that faith is not a feeling or based in emotions. Faith is to believe in the things that we cannot see. Faith does not belong to the Science field that has to be proven. I encourage you do not base your faith on feelings and emotions because they are temporary. We are already saved if we believe that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose on the third day. Please correct me if I am wrong, do you want to ask or you meant how did I turn to God and How did I feel before and after? I think that God uses all the situations for the good. After my grandfather got skin cancer I decided to turn to God. I loved my grandfather very much and I couldn’t allow that my grandfather died without knowing Jesus. I started my journey while on a spiritual retreat. Then I started to read the Bible with my grandfather. There was a moment after my grandfather had four surgeries, the doctors predicted 48 hours of life and I was going to church and he asked if I could pray for him and asked God if he can live more. I was in tears and I felt completely unworthy to ask God for such a miracle. Miraculously Our Heavenly Father full in mercy, goodness and generosity gave to my grandfather three months more to live. That was I turn to Jesus and I felt His presence. Praise God! God is always good all the time.. I think you have the answers that all your questions. Jesus is the answer to our life and desires of happiness. In regards to your question we can be closer of Our Lord Jesus Christ, having the same thoughts, feelings and deeds of Our Lord Jesus. Being others Jesus to others. Love, forgive, and look at others like Jesus does with mercy. I encourage you to know Jesus through His Sacred Word. We are calling do not get tired to proclaim his Gospel, not just with words but with our actions, and our life. That does mean that all your deeds glorify Our Lord, taking His Light to everyone, to everywhere. I encourage you to forgive others, situations and yourself. Forgiveness is the first step of healing and change. God cannot live in a heart with resentments. Please let me tell you that there’s no sin that cannot forgive you. Our sins are only a drop in the immense ocean of his mercy. I encourage you to pray to God for discernment that what He wants you to do for your life. I’m glad to know that you purchased a Holy Bible. I encourage to start reading in the New Testament in the Gospel of Mark.Sending you hugs. I will keep you in my prayers, my brother in Christ. Keep us posted, ok?
