Speaking the truth in love may mean, at times, keeping silence

God is the author of truth, the devil the father of lies. If the telling of a truth shall endanger your life, the Author of truth will protect you from the danger, or reward you for the damage. If the telling of a lie may secure your life, the father of lies will entice you to your gains, or traduce the security. It is better by losing of a live to save it, than by saving of a life to lose it. However, better that you perish than the truth.

'The smallest dew drop on the meadow at night has a star sleeping in its bosom, and the most insignificant passage of Scripture has in it a shining truth.’

Truth bears the impress of its own divinity and through reason may not be able to take credit of the fact, it fills the chambers of the soul with a light and glory that is not born of this earth.

Truth is divine


The study of truth is always joined with the love of virtue, for there is no virtue which obtains not its original from truth, as on the contrary there is no vice which has not its beginning from a lie. Truth is the foundation for all knowledge and the cement of all society.

A DOUBLE Amen to this! May ALL who read this realize and understand the importance of Divine Truth, and "our" truth sometimes differs from it. May God help us to apply Divine Truth and make it our way of life.

Fantastic! God is good! I believe no relationship can ever survive based on a lie. A couple of years ago, I told a friend, whom I loved like no other, that our friendship could survive anything but a lie. Regretably my friend did not listen, and today all that is left is an empty hole in my heart, where that friend once lived, warming my heart. I lost a friend over a simple bad choice, my friend could easily have avoided.

Well, I am glad God is working with you and relationship foundations. I wish above all things ALL Christians would take to heart the seriousness of what you have written. In reality there is NO other way acceptable to God and to one another.

May God bless you in all your present and future relationships. I will long remember the wisdom of your words. By following your own teachings you will never loses such a friend.

It is *nearly impossible to love someone in whose truthfulness we cannot tell or whose words and purposes and actions are without agreement.

Truth is the trial of itself, and needs no other touch and purer than the purest gold refine it ne’er so much
