Here's a suggestion, then. Perhaps an abortion should be a prescribed medical procedure, just like any other surgery, where the patient and the doctor decide together the best course of action and set a date to perform the procedure.

This happens now. If you have medical insurance like an HMO there is the initial consultation with your primary care physician followed by a referral. Or something along those lines. Clinics may be different, I don't know.

Don't get too bogged down by the 'pro life' vs 'pro choice' labels, you don't have to pin either one on yourself. Sometimes the smartest thing we can do is admit we don't know what to think and leave it at that. It's very liberating!
