I am really struggling with trusting God. How do you know when to totally trust God and when to take action yourself. It just seems like when I trust Him with areas in my life, things just don't seem to work out the way they do for others. It seems like when I pray for guidance and direction He just doesn't seem to answer. I try to see what God might be trying to teach me, and I still have no clue. Can anyone help me with this?

When you find out, could you let me know? Seriously, I am right where you are and it's the hardest thing that I've ever gone through. It's been going on for close to six months for me now and I have grown so much, but I still don't know what God wants from me.

I think the fact that we are asking this question is proof that we are on the right track. If we seek the Lord in all we do, He will guide our paths. We just might not recognize that it's Him. My 2 cents anyways. Good luck.

Make a plan for your life and then ask God to bless it. Never cast away your confidence and trust in God to take care of you, but don't expect to be rich like the people that appeal to the greed of the flesh on TV. God will always supply us with our needs like when Jesus spoke of how God sees and cares for the sparrow and the lillys of the field. He sees us and knows what we need to get along in life. If we are faithful in our giving, He may makes us manage even more of His kingdoms riches, but as a vessel that is poured out on to others in giving - not just to pile up riches that moth and rust will destroy, but to gain riches in heavens treasurey.

Pr 16:9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

Heb 10:35 Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you!

hang in there, god is taking you somewhere ,you dont see it now but when you get there you will be like "Now i get it".Sometimes he stays quiet because he wants you using your faith.God has a plan for you but before he sets you loose into the battle you have to learn how to fight,a kind of spiritual bootcamp if you will.Hes taking you to a higher level but you have to walk through the wilderness before you get to the mountian top.Patience is the key,and dont forget to read the ultimate training manuel, which is the bible.God Bless.

The Lord had stated it clearly in the Bible that when we ask, it will be given to you and when you seek, you shall find. Submit yourself fully to the Lord and let God take charge in your life. Each time when you want to do something, tell God and ask God to bless them. Ask God to give you the wisdom when you are doing something. It's also very important to have an intimate relationship with God. When you want to know whether it is God's will, pray and ask God for signs. When God had given you a sign and you are not sure about it, ask God for a confirmation to see whether has God given you the green light to get something done.

May God be with you...

Thank you so much for your replies. God has opened my eyes to some ways I have been displeasing Him in my christian walk. Sometimes you think you are heading in the right direction in your relationship with God, but then you learn something else, and you realize that it is not what God desires. After my divorce years ago I got involved with a Singles Ministry at my church who became like family to me. I thought having christian friends was God's will for me. Having christian friends is good, but I was not hanging around and associating much with non-christians. I was staying in my safe environment. I witnessed to non-christians who came to our church, but outside church I did not associate much with non-christians or put much effort into witnessing outside the church. I really think this has been blocking my relationship with God. God lead me to another church last year and it has been a struggle getting out of my comfort zone because missions and spreading the gospel outside the church walls is a main focus.
I am learning to be more specific with my prayer life and to trust Him with all areas in my life.

Thank you so much for you kind replies. May God Bless you. :)
