One Biblical example of trust that really speaks to me is that of the apostle Peter stepping out onto the sea to go to Jesus..( That's the kind of trust I long for ) And it is very reassuring to know that even if we begin to let doubt or fear cloud our focus, If we call out to Jesus, he's there for us....:amen:

Trusting others is a universal fear, I think. It's not easy to open up, to be vulnerable - I think that might be at the root of so many unhappy relationships. That's where we're at our most vulnerable when we tell others of our loves, pains, fears, hopes. You're open and raw and exposed. When someone embraces you in that state, it's almost as overwhelming as being rejected too.

Maggie was right - what we fear most is usually nothing to those who are there for us. We have to trust in God and the people in our lives that we won't be hurt. In the end, we owe our Creator and God that trust.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't trust very well at all. And I'm fairly sure part of the reason is how I view others (usually with suspicion and negatively - expecting the worst and usually finding it). So that will be my study for February - "Who Are They?". I hope to apply the same identity truths to them that God applies to me. Hopefully, I'll be able to see them more as God sees them!!!

I'll probably come back to a study of trust maybe around July. I always knew this was a multiple study.
