That's nine hundred general officers, not counting the thousands of officers below them. One hundred and ninty-two officers leaving in five years is less than normal attrition even among the generals. And often, there are very good reasons for saying "bye-bye" to generals...I once served under one that desperately needed to be purged.

We recognize President Obama is the commander-in-chief and that throughout history presidents from Lincoln to Truman have seen fit to remove military commanders they view as inadequate or insubordinate. Turnover in the military ranks is normal, and in these times of sequestration and budget cuts the numbers are expected to tick up as force levels shrink and missions change.
Yet what has happened to our officer corps since President Obama took office is viewed in many quarters as unprecedented, baffling and even harmful to our national security posture
And there are people who lie in order to gain entrance to places they do not belong. Of course, people can find ways around these rules. We hope people honor and respect them. But sometimes they do not. They betray the rest of us, and I suspect they think they are clever. But they degrade themselves when they break the social contract. The trust we all want to have toward each other diminishes a fraction more. They lie. And eventually, nobody trusts anyone. And we all move one inch closer to the end of something very special. I think we are there now. Tragic.
That is a two way street. I see very little respect for those who suffer from dysphoria in this forum. I see a lot of disrespectful comments. I see a lot of extremely hurtful comments. I see a lack of empathy and sympathy.
