Just a couple of observations...

1.

Donald is a protege of Norman Vincent Peal who wrote the Power of Positive Thinking.

Many consider Peals theology flawed seemingly replacing faith with positive confession.

Looking at Donalds verbal style it sure shows...

One hopes he has discovered genuine faith as well and seen through the error of his mentor.

2.

I notice there are many believers who have allowed themselves to become so divided politically that their rhetoric can only be described as hateful.

I have to ask then how such ones can pray for their leader as the scripture requires.

Why does everyone say Trump is racist? Why does everyone say he represents hate? I don't see that at all. I pray for President Trump cause he is my President. I did not like President Obama, however I pray for him still today.

Trump is crude and rude, at the same time he exposes the truth of fake news. A reporter should be unbiased. The true reporters of our day, 90% of the news organizations are owned by the 1% who control the wealth of the world. Their agenda is clear if you study who they are and what they want.

Trump is not a politician, he is a business man. He has done more for the people than any other politician in my life time. The facts are clear.

To pray ‘for’ someone and to agree ‘with’ someone are two different things. I pray for Trump to get his act together or get out of office.

I'm sure I saw an interview when Trump was asked did he have anything to answer to when he met his maker he said 'no', surely we all have something to answer for when we meet our Maker?

It's the most damning thing to say in today's society. Calling him a procrastinator or a sloppy housekeeper just doesn't have the same "bite" to it, you know?

Remember that this is all "politics." The impact of the accusation upon the voters is the point of it, not something about actual facts.

The objective view oftentimes appears hateful from either of two opposing subjective views in a left/right dichotomy, since the objective view doesn't see it their way. It's not surprising if we pray "they" see from three different perspectives.

I do have an answer. Trump says it because he believes his genes are better genes than other peoples genes. Now should I pray that God help Trump, and remove the carnal blindness that manifests as racism?

Why are Trump supporters so over the top? As if he is the beat all end all who can do nothing wrong and whose word is Gospel.

I get it that we did not have good choices. Maybe he was the lesser of two evils on the political scene. Maybe even still is? But why can’t they acknowledge his shortcomings and do appropriate critique? It is his supporters who need to challenge him and hold him accountable. He will discount and insult everyone else.

If I vote for someone I am even more critical of them because I helped get them in office. Why are Trump supporters incapable of critical thought about him? It makes them seem unreasonable and out of touch with reality.

Many Christians fault Norman Vincent Peale as you do, but many others acclaim him as a positive force in recent Christian history.

Either way, wouldn't having the President of the United States as a Presbyterian (!) be preferable to a president who is either non-religious or, if a nominal Christian, never sides with the churches in the many legal and legislative battles they face while trying to maintain their--and our--rights to freedom of religion?:

...what possible reason would he have to do that? He has hundreds of Christians in America assuring him that 1) all is forgiven! and 2) that he is "GODS CHOSEN MAN OF THE HOUR!!" (tm)
Someone who hears that all day every day is hardly going to think he isn't just fine the way he is.
