Trump's Campaign Is Slowly Doing This More — And It's Dangerous
According to experts, the GOP presidential nominee is instilling a dangerous level of fear in his followers, setting himself up as their savior. Their only hope.
It is clear, I think, that Trump has SAID a lot of things that are radical,
and strident, and even contradictory to human rights and preserving
the fair rule of law in America.
If he had SAID these things in a court of law, under oath, he would already
have been convicted of dozens of instances of perjury.
His MAGA supporters still point to his radical and abusive rhetoric during his
term as President, where he DIDN'T try to become a full-fledged dictator.
(This is the argument that many in Germany, between the World Wars,
made about Adolph Hitler, also, but about his future leadership.)
When compiled, side by side (as in the Huff Post article), Trump's rhetoric
CANNOT be called normal.
When Trump continually repeated ridiculous conspiracy theories, such as
Haitian immigrants eating the pets of American citizens, as if this is something
that were true, or even relevant if not true, then one has got to ask whether
American citizens would want a President who continues to use this rhetoric,
and who continues to be so disconnected from reality. (We should NOT elect
such a candidate, hoping against hope, that he will NOT carry out, or believe,
his rhetoric!)
The response from the European Union, and our NATO allies, is shock at
Trump's rhetoric. At face value, an FBI criminal analyst ought also to be
shocked at this rhetoric, as the rhetoric AND Trump's explanation of this
rhetoric seems to be logically incoherent. If Trump is serious about these
assertions he makes, then he is basically insane. If he is just trying to
entertain his followers, then does he recognize that many of his followers
are taking him seriously? And if he realized THIS, then does he care that he
is provoking uninformed American citizens to rage and perhaps criminal
violence, as part of his entertainment act?
Or, is Trump just sliding into dementia, followed by emotional followers
who don't care about the lack of evidence for his stories?
Has the American presidential election just become a giant stock car race
that MAGA followers are watching, not caring about the skill of stock car
racing, but just watching to see some massive car wreck and deadly injuries?
While getting stoned?
Is THIS what American citizens, and American Evangelicals, and American
Catholics, and American Blacks, are waiting to see?
Is THIS what non(white-male) American citizens are waiting for? A President
who subscribes to the great Replacement conspiracy theory, and who uses the
language of radical white supremicists? Have you thought about what Trump
thinks about YOU, given his public rhetoric?
The rhetoric that historic Christians use, OUGHT TO BE polite, connected to
reality, free of hate and deceit and gossip, aimed at providing a prophetic
insight into a situation, pointing out moral-ethical error, or promoting
Christian values-virtues.
If you regularly scan the top 20 news sources in America, it will be clear
that they mostly agree that Trump has gone far beyond all bounds of
propriety and sober thinking, and has embraced theories and stories
that are perverted, false, damaging, and even that promote misguided violence.
It is time for conservative Republicans, and Christians, to vote against Trump.
The hope that he will NOT live out what he says, after being elected,
is a fig leaf that will be applied, AFTER THE ACTUAL TRANSGRESSION.
Regardless of what political party Trump is connected with,
this rhetoric is a sound reason to vote against Trump.
