From where I stand, that appears to be the whole point. And if that is the case, her complaint may serve only to encourage him that he is winning.Federal Election Commission (FEC) Commissioner Ellen Weintraub on Wednesday strongly hit back at claims from President Trump that mail-in voting leads to high levels of fraud, asserting that there is "no basis" for such allegations and that the falsehoods "may well undermine the American people's faith in our democracy.

Doesn't tapping a landline or mobile require a court order? Because what they're asking for re social media and email appears to just be free access to the private data of any American citizen who uses any of those services.
That would certainly be a fair argument if people were only allowed to use Facebook and Twitter. At the moment though there's nothing stopping people using other services, or getting information from elsewhere on the internet.
It's also worth mentioning that Twitter and Facebook aren't preventing conservative thought and discussion, they're simply tagging content that is deceptive. You can talk all day on there about small government, the need for border controls, and the sanctity of marriage or whatever, but they increasingly won't allow people to spread downright lies and conspiracy theories. Their previous reluctance to censor this kind of content is exactly why they received such huge criticism in the past, and why governments around the world have been threatening to legislate unless they acted on it. It's not an attack on conservative thought unless you think conservative thought is inherently dishonest (which neither I nor they do). They will apply the same restrictions to conspiracy theories or lies from the left.
Twitter come out punching. What a glorious sight.
Trump has 80 million followers.
So the question is, is this a fight Twitter wants to have?
Obviously they are willing to take it to the wall... let's see where that wall goes...
He'd run into issues monetizing it while also doing his full time job.The crazy thing is, if he did start his own, personal Twitter, it would actually probably be really successful. All his followers would download it. Not as big as Twitter, but it would certainly have a big user base.
Twitter didn't want the fight at all, but they've been under huge pressure from governments to clamp down on misinformation and abuse on their platform. It was only a matter of time until this came to a head. Trump breaks their Terms of Service on a near daily basis, in a fair world they'd have banned him back in 2016.

When you only silence one side and one point of view, your only publishing half the story...
Where's the fairness?
The internet was supposed to be a free exchange of idea's without fear. Now we are using it to silence the half, and bowing to communist governments.
That was never the point.
Twitter remove vast numbers of posts and ban thousands of people every day for breaking their Terms of Service. It
If Trump successfully gets 230 protections pulled from Twitter, it will put Twitter in a position where they will have to shut down Trump’s account because they will be responsible for anything he posts. Trump just took his own Twitter account hostage.
Yes, they do. And this is about more than just politics.
They've edited content or deleted content from the majority of conservatives on the planet.
Why care if they double down on it?
Conservatives will leave, in favor of platforms that are truly open platforms as is what normally happens in the course of events. Many already have.
And the dems who favor free speech instead of partisan sounding boards will follow, as all their fun will be gone.

This has to do with what defines an open platform and what defines a publisher and at which point one (open platform) becomes the other (publisher) under the law.
The EO just states that editing content, deleting content, shadowbanning etc. is what turns an open platform (legally protected from liability for the content posted by its users) into a publisher (legally liable for content it publishes under the law) because those are actions of a publisher and not simply a provider of a platform.
That's all. So now it's the law itself which will be argued.
