Florida judge grants DOJ motion to unseal Epstein grand jury transcripts​

U.S. District Judge Rodney Smith – a Trump appointee – determined that the language of the recently-enacted Epstein Transparency Act "overrides" federal rules prohibiting the public disclosure of grand jury materials.

Smith is one of three federal judges asked by the DOJ to unseal grand jury materials in cases involving Epstein and his convicted co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. Smith is the first to rule. Two judges in New York are expected to issue their decisions next week.

I think it's a tactical mistake to release all the Clinton stuff and none of the Trump stuff. Clinton might rightly get pilloried, but he is mostly out of public life these days. His reputation is trashed and maybe there'll be a lawsuit, who knows, but he's rich famous and long retired so after the sniggers and aha!s die down, there won't be much to talk about.

Trump, on the other hand, well, by dribbling out the dirty deeds, they just stay in the public space that much longer and more glaringly. Of course, we don't know just how bad his part was, but speculation won't make it go away.
