It is not "well, I guess no more police force". What EXACTLY it means depends on what each city may be going for. Likely it means, in part, not buying exmiltary equipment and spending the money on social workers and mental health counsellors who can be used for wellness checks, and checks where violence is less likely.Enlighten us then, oh wise guru because I think there are alot of people here who think the same way. And I'm just waiting to see what your response is (sorry, I ended my sentence with a verb but you get the meaning).
Of course, there is a WIDE scale of what exactly that looks like but nothing involves "getting rid of the police force". So go read what organizations in your city are ACTUALLY arguing for instead of "bargle bargle, defund the police" if you want to know what kind of changes are being advocated for at the local level.
