Trump, Kim Jong Un meet face-to-face, shake hands at historic summit
It's unbelievable! Pres. Trump and Kim Jong In finally meet in Singapore face to face. For the first time, there was a U.S. President meeting a leader of North Korea. I find it hard to believe that I see camera clips and pictures of Trump and Kim Jong Un meeting each other on the same screen with no alterations.
And just months ago the relationship between the U.S. and North Korea seemed very strained with threats of a nuclear war. It seems that the tables have turned pretty quickly with this summit.
It's a great thing that President Trump finally met Kim Jong Un face to face because North Korea has always been an obviously isolated enemy of the U.S. ever since it was born. So now there is history in the making that will have impact. Hopefully, this means that North Korea can finally ease tensions and open up itself. I'm not expecting it to be a democracy at all. After all, North Korea is a giant personality cult that is more dangerous than People's Temple or the Branch Davidians.
However, Trump meeting with Kim Jong Un reminds me of how Nixon went to China in 1972. From the early cold war until then, China was just as adverse to the United States as North Korea is now. Look at how prosperous China is now even though they are still a communist state. I've been watching the Fox report on this and they have compared this summit with that between Ronald Reagan and Gorbachev in 1985
