I expressed such an idea some time back. With all of the Democrats efforts to keep illegals in the country a stronger incentive was needed rather than just telling them they would never be allowed back in the country if they did not self-deport. If they realize they will probably eventually be caught why not take the $1000 and have a chance to file legally for citizenship?

No thanks. I don't want my tax dollars spent on this.
$1,000 is most likely less than it would cost the government to arrest, house and deport them. Several countries in Europe have done the same thing and paid immigrants 1,000€ to go back to their home - which was a lot less than having to deport them ourselves, let alone the cost of keeping them in the country. So this method is actually beneficial to the tax payer.

I am okay with the additional cost.

I understand and can sympathize. But realize Democrats are going to keep on trying to keep as many illegals, including violent criminals, in our country for as long as they can. It will be far more expensive. What we could have is a checkoff on income tax, pay an extra 5 dollars each year to support Trump's plan or pay an extra $1500 each year to support the Democrat approach.

What evidence is there that this is their intent?

It seems every time I disagree with something being done by Trump the Democrats get brought up. So, for the record, I'm not a Democrat. I've registered as one. I've never voted for one. Nor will I ever register or vote Democrat. I'm sure many here won't believe me, but here I stand.

It will be far more expensive.
It might be. I suppose it would depend on how handle it.

I like the idea in concept, but I don't think it would ultimately be feasible.

Democrats covered up many of their actions, but from the beginning it was obvious to many when they refused plugging the remaining holes in the wall. Remember they blocked media access to the border facilities and concealed and denied what was going on for a long time. Senator Ted Cruz was finally able to get there for documentation. Republicans busing immigrants to New York and Chicago ended the charade for more of us.

I'm going to be direct. I stopped reading right here. I'm not interested in conspiracy theories.
There were also Democrats who knew Joe was not sharp as a tack but covered it up. Likewise Nixon covered up Watergate. Those things do happen in Washington, being in denial does no one any good:

I agree, it's a lot less money.

I just came back just to post in your thread where you mentioned it.

Praise God!

How many more ideas do you have @Valletta ? Lol!

I don't think this is a good idea unless they are illegal Mexicans. The others from all around the world paid the human traffickers way more than $1k, so it'll probably be better to foot the bill to get the illegals out of the country.

I think the only ones that will go for the 1000, are ones that would probably leave anyway. A better method of preventing illegals would be to require every non-citizen leaving to get cleared by immigration to leave. If one tries to leave and they are in the country illegally, they can go to jail or face stiff fines. They also are typically banned from re-entry. So someone has to really think twice about overstaying their visa. Because once that happens, you now are no longer ignored when you try to leave. Valid visa holders too pay a small price when they leave. This pays for a criminal check. If there are outstanding warrants they then are held in custody as well. In other words, border protection can not just occur with entry, but also when someone exits.

Yes, the whole idea is to give people incentive to go the legal route. I would like to see some of those who leave on their own apply for legal citizenship and be approved.
