  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Criminals will be the first targets for President Trump’s “mass” deportations, but Homeland Security will eventually get to rank-and-file illegal immigrants, according to incoming border czar Tom Homan.

“If you’re in the country illegally, you need to be looking over your shoulder because you’re not supposed to be here, and we’ll eventually get to you,” he said.

It will be interesting to see how Christian responds when ICE drag out mother, children and grandmother out of their home whose only SIN is being poor and seeking a better life.

Will Christians cite Romans 13 to justify following government rules, or will they follow Jesus's commands?

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

The same argument could be made about the man who robbed a bank because he was poor and seeking a better life. I would see it as a tragedy. A tragedy because weak liberal policies encouraged her to find a better life illegally. I would be upset that her children must suffer because she didn't go through the legal process. I would be upset at the previous administrations for their lack of enforcement.

There is no need to use the heavy-handed tactics of the Biden administration. Recall their raid of the the house of a non-violent person who was at the Capitol, a raid carried out with brutal force. I remember seeing the mother and child standing their so frightened. The mother had a miscarriage the next day.
Countries around the world deport those who are there illegally. Even if you entered legally in the EU, for example, to overstay a visa you would be deported and fined. On some occasions they put a person on trial and there is imprisonment. Almost always there is a ban for a period of time. There are many who have applied legally to enter our country, families who are looking for a better life, and there is no reason for them to continue to wait while those who break the laws of the United States push ahead. To me part of the punishment should go on those U.S. officials who violated the laws of our country and who let them in. The first priority is to get the violent criminals out and save the kids and adults sold into slavery. There are areas where Democrats are saying they will resist, and those who interfere with federal rescue operations or apprehension of criminals should be severely punished.

When Jesus asks, "For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink," your response should not be to place blame on the Biden administration, or compare actions to those of other countries around the world.

There has to be accountability. The human trafficking has to stop, and Mr. Biden and Mr. Mayorkas are accessories, this situation cannot be allowed to happen again. We are a sovereign nation. If a bunch of Democrats want to experiment with their ownnation without borders they can renounce their citizenship and try it. Not here, as was tried by the Democrats in the Civil War, but perhaps land could be purchased. At the moment the focus is on removing the most violent of criminals and freeing the hundreds of thousands of those trafficked. We need to plug the border holes, physical and security-wise, so the criminals cannot re-enter and the trafficking is stopped. Those who interfere are committing crimes against humanity.

I am afraid I don’t agree with you. I know if I hide behind all these mumbo jumbo , Jesus will answer me “ I never knew you”.

Context...context...context. How many illegal migrant families are you feeding, clothing, housing, and harboring? So please spare the pearl clutching.

Are you unable to send food and drink across the border to the thirsty and hungry who are obeying the law? If not, are you doing that?

As far as I know it's illegal. At least, people have been arrested for doing it and supplies of food and water destroyed. In any case the territory the migrants are languishing in is controlled by gangs who resist such efforts.
Are you pitting Jesus against Paul?
No contest there. Jesus wins every time.

Jesus didn't give that command to allow crime to take place. This nation would be breaking that command if no one was allowed to come in under any circumstances and if no aid was sent to other countries, but that's hardly the case. This nation is just not allowing people to break the law.

What's the crime, again? Crossing the border illegally? A misdemeanor, comparable to a DUI or disorderly conduct. And if the immigrants are let in, then their entry is constructively legal anyway, and if they sneak in and claim asylum then their status is regularized. No, these asylum seekers are legal, and your complaint is with the law, not the migrants.

No it's not. Every time I go to Mexico I find an individual to directly help; but if you can't visit them in person; there are many charities that will skim your donations to provide food for the hungry overseas.

No contest there. Jesus wins every time.
Are you saying that Paul got it wrong?

The hundreds of thousands who are to be rescued may be in bad shape. Some may have been tortured. They have been abandoned and forgotten by the administration and those who support the administration actions now for almost four years, of course they will be now provided with food and water and emergency care. If Democrats want to join with MAGAs in helping them they will be welcome. After the criminals and terrorists and Chinese military have been removed the next to go will be able bodied adults who are physically able to work but are receiving government benefits instead.
